If you're new to Sonos, Roam SL is a great entry speaker to the system. If you've got Sonos already, simply add Roam SL to your existing setup over WiFi & you can add another room of music or group with your other Sonos speakers.

The Sonos Roam SL will automatically connect to your home network & pair with your smart device when you’re out so you never have to worry about connecting.

Sonos Roam SL’s Precision-engineered acoustics offer performance beyond its compact size. Two Class-H digital Amplifiers power One Cylindrical mid-woofer & One Tweeter that let you enjoy the clarity, depth & fullness found in much larger speakers.

You’ll be able to use Trueplay on an iOS device to tune the Roam SL to the shape of your room. We only recommend enabling Trueplay if keeping the Roam SL in one space for a long period of time.

Long Lasting Battery to power through your adventures

With an impressive 10-hour battery life from a single charge, Roam SL is ready all day long. To save power, Roam SL will switch to a low power mode/fall asleep when not in use. Wake it up with the press of a button and start listening again in seconds. This sleep mode conserves power & the battery can last up to 10 days.

The Sonos Roam SL comes with a USB-C charging cable but it is also compatible with QI chargers. You can purchase Sonos’ separate matching charging base to have a more permanent charging dock in your home.

What's the difference?

Sonos Roam SL vs. Sonos Roam

The main difference between the Sonos Roam and the Roam SL is the SL’s lack of inbuilt microphone. This is what gives the Roam SL its SL moniker, standing for ‘speechless’. Here are the main differences you should know about: 

• The Roam SL doesn’t support Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice control
• The Roam SL cannot perform Auto-Trueplay, a feature that automatically calibrates your audio to the space, whereas the Roam can
• You cannot use the Soundswap feature with the Sonos Roam SL
• The Sonos Roam SL is £20 cheaper at £159 than the Sonos Roam at £179

With a rugged, solid design & IP67 weatherproof rating, Roam SL is ready for the great outdoors and is drop resistant, waterproof up to 1 metre for 30 minutes and protected against dust ingress.

FAQs

Q. Will Roam SL work with Bluetooth out of the box?
A. You’ll need to set the Roam SL up on your Wifi network using the Sonos App S2 before you’re able to bluetooth pair your speaker with another device. If you’re thinking of taking the Roam out of the house, make sure it’s been set up first.

Q. Can I use two Roam SLs as surround rears or with a Sub?
A. No, as the Roam SL is a portable speaker it cannot be paired with either a Soundbar as surround rears or a Sub. We’d recommend a pair of Sonos One SLs for this.

Q. Will the Sonos Roam SL Auto-Trueplay 
A. No, as the Sonos Roam SL doesn’t have an inbuilt microphone array it’s not able to Auto-Trueplay when moved to a new location. If keeping the Roam SL in the same spot, you could enable the traditional Trueplay feature using an iOS device.

Q. Is the Sonos Roam SL Waterproof?
A. The Roam SL has an IP Rating of IP67 meaning it’s able to withstand submersion in 1m of water for up to 30 minutes. It’s also protected against dust ingress, making it perfect for a day at the beach!

Q. Can I stereo pair two Sonos Roam SLs?
A. Yes, you will be able to pair two Sonos Roam SLs to create a stereo sound. You’ll also be able to stereo pair a Sonos Roam with a Sonos Roam SL for added flexibility. In this scenario you’d be able to use the voice assistant feature on the Sonos Roam with the Sonos One SLs.
