Bowers & Wilkins 600 Series Overview
Bowers and Wilkins are highly-regarded in the audio industry for their iconic and distinctively designed craftsmanship of loudspeakers, home cinema, headphones and more recently, even wireless speakers.
Amongst the enormous growth of the wireless speaker market over the last decade, HiFi separates still have validity for those that enjoy the “journey” of audio and the impossible pursuit of perfection.
Dedicated HiFi setups allow the listener to experiment endlessly with different Bookshelf speakers, Standmount speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers and even turntables until the heart is content and that’s why we’re here today to give you a quick overview of the Bowers & Wilkins 600 series.
Bowers & Wilkins 607 Bookshelf Speakers - £399 per pair
The B&W 607s kickstart the 600 range of Bookshelf speakers and are perfect for intimate listening if you have a smaller size room.
Featuring a 5-inch continuum cone taken from the legendary 800 series diamond, the 607s deliver an open and detailed performance that brings out the best in recordings.
The decoupled double dome tweeter is a thoughtful feature that keeps vibration from other drivers to a minimum by breaking up the tweeter from the midrange drivers - a Bowers & Wilkins classic feature.
They have undergone a refreshed aesthetic design with a magnetic grille and the port has been relocated to the back of the speaker.
Available in matte black or white
Floorstands available (sold separately)
What we love
- Understated design and manageable size means they are not too intrusive as speakers
- Impressive bass and vocal clarity
- Our best choice for versatile listening on a budget or as your first ever set of Bookshelf speakers
Pitfalls
- We honestly couldn’t think of any when you consider the price!

Bowers & Wilkins 606 Bookshelf Speakers - £549 per pair
The B&W 606s are a step up from the 607s in terms of size, but with that larger footprint unlocks a new realm of bass and midrange clarity.
Suited to slightly larger size areas than the 607s, these speakers need a little more room to breathe.
The 606s comes with a larger 6.5 inch Continuum cone and allows for greater precision and detail than its younger brother. They even featured in WhatHiFi’s Hall of Fame in 2019 and won best stereo speakers of the same year. That’s quite an achievement.
Available in matte black or white
Floorstands available (sold separately)
What we love
- Thanks to the larger driver, the soundstage is much wider than the size of the product would indicate
- Looks amazing on a set of floor stands
- Our best choice if your speakers will be a focal point in your room or if using with a turntable in between
Pitfalls
- Could be quite imposing in a smaller room

Bowers & Wilkins 603 Standmount Speakers - £1299 per pair
The B&W 603s are an epic set of floorstanding speakers, built for versatility. Use them as a dedicated stereo pair or in a home theatre set up and these really excel.
These are the largest speakers in the 600 range and if you’re a lover of bass, then look no further. The separate mid-range speaker means the 2 paper bass cones can focus solely on enhancing your listening experience with powerful bass.
It’s not just bass these speakers do well at, these can fill a large open plan space with an incredibly wide soundstage. They deliver stunning vocal clarity, bringing a wonderful presence to the vocalists which gives enormous credit to the engineering team at Bowers & Wilkins.

- Hard-to-beat vocal clarity with an exceptional sense of presence
