The Flagship Star: LG M5 OLED
The OLED evo M5 is LG’s crown jewel in 2025. Building on LG's wireless innovation , the M5 takes things to the next level with 144Hz wireless audio and video transmission, all without compromising on latency or quality.
Under the hood, the M5 now runs on LG’s Alpha 11 Gen 2 processor. While the refresh rate is capped at 144Hz, a modest step down from the G5’s 165Hz spec, but one that still offers a smooth and seamless viewing experience that’s more than enough for gamers and movie lovers alike.
What really sets the M5 apart this year is LG’s decision to move away from MLA panel technology. Instead, it features an advanced "four-stack" Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel design, which delivers a significant boost in brightness without sacrificing picture quality.
In terms of size options, the M5 lineup will include 97", 83", 77", and 65" models.

LG G4 vs. LG G5: What’s New?

Built to succeed the much-loved G4, the LG G5 stole the show at CES with its transformative updates. It's available in a range of impressive sizes: 97", 83", 77", 65", 55", and (drumroll please) 48". Let's dive into everything you need to know.
• New Size Alert: For the first time ever, the G series now comes in a 48” model, making it a versatile choice for smaller spaces.
• Gaming Upgrades: The G5 is set to boast 4K 165Hz VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) on all models except the 97” and 48”, setting a new standard for gaming TVs.
• Processor Power: Both the G5 and M5 are powered by the latest Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 2, delivering cutting-edge AI-enhanced visuals and processing.
• Primary RGB Tandem OLED: One of the most significant upgrades in the 2025 OLED lineup is the introduction of LG’s new Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, also known as a 4-stack design. This cutting-edge panel structure layers two blue, one red, and one green organic element to dramatically enhance both brightness and colour reproduction. The result? Up to 40% more peak brightness compared to last year’s G4, along with better energy efficiency and improved long-term durability.
If you’re already eyeing up the new LG G5… we don’t blame you.

Spotlight on the C Series: LG C5

While the G series often grabs the headlines, the LG C5 is shaping up to be a standout in the mid-range OLED market, coming in a range of sizes including 97", 83", 77", 65", 55", 48", and 42" models.
• Enhanced Audio: The C5 is set to feature 11.2.2 channel virtual surround sound, promising an immersive home cinema experience.
• Processing Upgrade: Powered by LG’s A9 Gen 8 processor, the C5 is no slouch in performance.
• Soundbar Match: LG is also launching a new soundbar designed specifically for the C series, ensuring a seamless aesthetic and audio experience.

The Versatile B-Series: LG B5
LG’s B5 is now officially the most affordable OLED in the 2025 lineup, and it’s a great way to get into OLED without overspending. It replaces last year’s LG B4 and brings a handful of important upgrades while keeping things simple and accessible.
You get a 120Hz WOLED panel for smooth motion handling, plus Dolby Vision, HDR10, and strong gaming features like VRR and ALLM. It’s powered by the Alpha 8 Gen 2 processor, which delivers solid day-to-day performance with support for AI Picture and AI Sound enhancements.
While it doesn’t include LG’s newer Tandem OLED tech or Brightness Boosters, the B5 still delivers the deep blacks, vibrant contrast, and cinematic viewing OLED is known for. It skips the ATSC 3.0 tuner, which may matter more to US users than UK ones, but that’s been a consistent trend across LG’s 2025 range.
The B5 comes in a wide range of sizes from 48" up to 83", making it one of the most versatile TVs in the lineup whether you’re kitting out a smaller bedroom or going big in a home cinema setup.
What About The Competition?
LG’s 2025 OLED lineup arrives at a time when competition in the premium TV space is hotter than ever. With both the G5 and M5 now confirmed to feature LG’s new Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, it’s clear the brand is pushing hard to stay at the cutting edge of brightness, efficiency, and long-term panel performance.
That puts them in direct contention with Panasonic’s Z95B, which also uses RGB tandem technology, as well as rivals like Sony’s Bravia 8 II and Samsung’s S95F, both of which bring their own panel tech and image processing strengths to the table.
