A. There is no difference in audio quality between the Sonos One SL and Sonos One (Gen 2), with both housing the same internal drivers and audio components. Both also support Airplay 2 functionality. The main difference between the two is that the Sonos One SL has no internal microphone so cannot be controlled using voice assistant unless it's paired with a compatible Sonos Speaker or Alexa or Google Device.

Q. Can I stereo pair a Sonos One SL with a Sonos One (Gen 2)?

A. Yes, you can stereo pair the Sonos One SL with either a Sonos One G2 or the original G1.

Q. Can the Sonos One SL be used for surround sound?

A. A pair of Sonos One SLs are perfect for use with a Sonos Sound bar as surround sound rears. Pair your One SLs with a Beam or Arc and accompanying Sonos Sub for a full 5.1 or 5.1.2 surround sound system.
