More than just a radio, the Ruark R1S is a compact bookshelf radio with streaming capabilities which gives you access to your favourite entertainment all day long. Boasting not only a DAB, DAB+ and FM Tuner but also Internet radio and a Bluetooth 5 receiver, you can listen to your favourite shows, stations and podcasts your way.

Contemporary, sophisticated design

Following on from the sophisticated design of the R1 Mk4 radio, the R1S offers a unique, contemporary look. Available exclusively in a Mid Grey finish with a composite wood hand-crafted grille, made from sustainable wood. On top there is the trademark RotoDial controller and a colour display which enable easy control and visibility of playback.

Time, alarm and programme information are clearly shown on the vivid colour display as well as album and station artwork where available. The display audio-adjusts to suit the surrounding light levels, making it perfect for a bedroom.

The R1S features a USB-C charge, MP3 playback port, headphone output and a switchable line input.

The one for radio lovers

Boasting a SmartRadio tuner, the R1S gives access to stations around the world as well as podcasts and catch-up services. Use the R1S’s search to find the content you want with the intuitive RotoDial controller.

Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming offers even more flexibility with Spotify Connect, Amazon Music and Deezer as well as a Bluetooth 5 receiver to access almost every other available service. The Bluetooth function remembers up to 6 devices, gives great sound quality and is highly efficient to reduce battery drain on battery powered devices.

Powered by a dynamic linear amplifier and with an optimised enclosure, the RS1 also boasts Ruark’s NS+ loudspeaker for a smooth and extended response with bass performance that goes beyond its compact size.

Adaptive equalisation ensures the speaker provides a highly listenable sound at all levels.

Optional remote control

A handy addition is the Ruark compact remote which boasts 4 direct pre-set buttons to give you quick access for your favourite stations and playlists.

Optional BackPack 3 for Audio On The Go

Add the Ruark BackPack 3 to take your R1, R1S or MR1 on the go, whether it’s out in the garden, at the beach or where your mains power can’t reach. Once fitted, the BackPack 3 can be left permanently in place, charging automatically when reconnected to main power. 

When not connected to mains power, the radio will go into an ultra low power mode to conserve energy and a full charge will offer up to 12 hours of playback (volume depending).
