Unlike with other applications, headphones designed specifically for gaming are heavily measured on their microphone performance. Traditionally in gaming headphones we see a boom arm protruding towards the user's face, but B&O have managed to overcome this with an array of beam-forming microphones positioned in each ear cup. This innovative virtual boom arm will filter out any background noise but amplify your voice clearly for uninterrupted communication mid-game. You’ll be able to easily mute your own voice or switch between modes mid-game using earcup touch controls.
EQ settings can be changed using gesture controls in the Bang & Olufsen App, allowing you to flick between presets designed to enhance both gaming and music. Own Voice Balance mode improves voice balance so that you can hear multiple voices clearly.
Bluetooth 5.1 and Xbox Wireless Connectivity
Wireless Bluetooth 5.1 has been built into the Beoplay Portals for strong and stable connectivity. Up to eight devices in total can be paired with the B&O Portals, with gaming devices such as consoles and PCs given priority and pairing first - a nice touch for a headphone pair devised with gaming in mind. Lossless 2.4GHz wireless connectivity is not only rock-solid, but will offer an immersive and detailed listening experience.
The B&O Beoplay Portals have been designed and built in partnership with Xbox for use with their new X/S console series. Xbox Wireless connectivity makes transitions between gaming, phone calls and music listening incredibly seamless and easy to navigate.

Active Noise Cancellation is a feature we’ve come to expect from premium wireless headphone options, and the Beoplay Portals are no exception here. The four beamforming microphones used to create the virtual boom arm are further utilised to pick up and reduce background or outside noise, ensuring you aren’t distracted by a chatty housemate or family member in crucial moments.
Active Noise Cancellation along with own-voice balance, mute and other features can all be adjusted instantly with on-ear cup controls or in the intuitive B&O app.

Our Extended Christmas Returns
We've extended our normal returns for the festive season. Any gifts bought between 27th October 2023 and 22nd January 2024 can be returned up until 31st January 2024.
How does the returns policy work?
If a gift is unwanted, customers must contact Smart Home Sounds by the 31st January 2023 via phone, email or live chat. Our team will assist you in the returns process.
Items must be fully unopened and sealed. Return postage will be at the cost of the customer.
If the unwanted item is opened, this will revert to our regular 30 days returns policy.
Faulty items will follow our standard returns procedure.
