The Sonos Era 100 includes built-in mics for voice control. The Sonos Era 100 SL removes the microphones entirely. In fact, “SL” stands for Speechless.
You still get the same sound and design, but control happens through the Sonos app, Apple AirPlay 2 or the touch controls on the speaker.

The Era 100 SL isn’t limited to streaming. Using the Sonos Line-In Adapter (sold separately), you can connect external audio sources such as a turntable, CD player or computer via a 3.5mm auxiliary cable. Once connected, that audio can be shared across any other Sonos speakers on your Wi-Fi network, bringing traditional sources into your multi-room setup.
The same port can also be used with the Sonos Combo Adapter to add a wired Ethernet connection, giving you an alternative to Wi-Fi for a more stable network link.

Unfortunately, Android users can’t use Quick Trueplay™ with Era 100 SL, as that method relies on the speaker’s built-in microphones, which the Era 100 SL doesn’t have.

A. Era 100 SL is designed to fit almost anywhere, including enclosed spaces like a bookshelf. It’s humidity resistant, making it suitable for the kitchen or a covered patio. To save surface space, use the custom Sonos Era 100 Wall Mount or Sonos Era 100 Stand. These accessories also work well when using a pair as rear speakers in a home theatre setup.
Q. Does Era 100 SL support stereo pairing
A. Yes. You can stereo pair two Era 100 SL speakers or mix Era 100 SL with Era 100 in the same room. Pairs can also serve as rear speakers with Arc Ultra, Arc, Beam (any generation), or Ray. Era 100 will not stereo pair with Sonos One, One SL, or Play:1.
Q. What soundbars will pair with Era 100 SL for surround sound?
A. Two Era 100 SL speakers can be used as surrounds with Arc Ultra, Arc, Beam (any generation), or Ray. They are not compatible with Playbar or Playbase. You can also use a pair as surrounds when your TV is connected to Amp.
Q. Which subwoofer should I pair with Era 100 SL?
A. Pair Era 100 SL with Sub Mini or Sub. All generations of Sub are supported.

Q. Can I experience Dolby Atmos with Era 100 SL?
A. On its own, Era 100 SL does not support spatial audio playback. For Dolby Atmos, we recommend Era 300. When used as rear surrounds with Arc Ultra, Arc, or Beam (Gen 2), two Era 100 SL speakers will support Dolby Atmos playback.
Q. Can I use Bluetooth as soon as I plug in the speaker?
A. Not immediately. Era 100 SL must first be set up on Wi-Fi using the Sonos app. After setup, you can pair a Bluetooth device by pressing the button on the back of the speaker. If the speakers are configured as home theatre surrounds, Bluetooth is disabled.
Q. What kind of devices can I connect to Era 100 SL using line in?
A. Any audio source with a 3.5 mm line output, such as a turntable, computer, or CD player.
Q. Where is the ethernet port on Era 100 SL?
A. Era 100 SL does not include an Ethernet port. To hardwire your speaker, use the Sonos Combo Adapter, which provides both Ethernet and 3.5 mm line-in connections. These require separate Ethernet and auxiliary cables.
Q. Which voice assistants can I use with Era 100 SL?
A. None. Era 100 SL has no built-in microphones and does not support voice assistants.
