What We Know So Far About the LG C6 OLED
LG has officially unveiled the 2026 C6 OLED TV range - and at first glance, it looks like the biggest leap forward the C series has seen in years. But there’s a twist.
Not all C6 models are created equal this year.
In a surprise move, LG has split the C6 lineup into two distinct versions, depending on size. That means the upgrades you get (especially to the panel) will vary quite a bit depending on which screen size you choose.
The LG C6 replaces last year's C5, a best-selling mid-range OLED. So let’s break down what’s new, what’s changed, and whether the C6 or C6H is the better buy for you.

LG C6H: Big-Screen OLED With Flagship Ambitions
If you’re shopping for a 77” or 83” TV, you’re looking at the C6H - and this is where the most exciting upgrades happen.
For the first time, LG is bringing its Tandem RGB OLED panel (previously exclusive to the G series) to the C lineup. That means:
- Much higher peak brightness
- Improved energy efficiency
- Better long-term durability
Paired with new Hyper Radiant Colour technology, the result should be punchier colours, deeper contrast, and a real leap in HDR performance - especially in bright rooms.
LG suggest the C6H could be up to three times brighter than the B series, and very close to last year’s G5. That’s a major leap for a TV that’s still technically classed as “mid-range”.
LG C6: Smaller Sizes, Smarter Performance
So what about the 42”, 48”, 55”, and 65” models?
While these don’t get the new Tandem panel, they’re far from being left behind. It's building on a solid WOLED foundation and we expect the C6 to remain one of the best mid-range OLEDs on the market, offering smart upgrades where it matters - especially in processing and gaming.
The biggest improvement is the arrival of the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3 across the entire C6 and C6H range. This is the same processor being used in the 2026 flagship G6 model which is a real shift from last year, when the C series had a step-down chip from the G series.
Compared to the Alpha 9 in the 2025 C5, this new processor brings:
- 50% faster CPU
- 70% faster GPU
- 5x more powerful AI engine (NPU)
What should that mean for viewers? Sharper image upscaling, more dynamic tone mapping, smoother HDR performance, and better brightness control, even on existing panel tech. While the brightness jump won’t match the C6H, we’re hoping to see an improvement in performance when we get the C6 in for testing.
The smaller C6 models also continue to offer superb gaming features, now with 4K at 165Hz, HDMI 2.1, VRR and ALLM - making them ideal for next-gen gaming setups.

How does the LG C5 compare to the competition?
With the OLED market heating up in 2026, the big question isn’t just how the C6 compares to last year’s model - it’s how it stacks up against its biggest rivals.
Let’s look at two key matchups.
LG C6H vs G6: Is the Bigger C Series pushing close to flagship?
This could be a much tighter race than ever before.
Both the C6H and G6 use the a Tandem OLED panel, Hyper Radiant Colour, and Alpha 11 processor. That means core picture quality should be pretty close.
But the G6 still holds a few key advantages:
- Includes a heat sink for even higher brightness performance
- Features LG’s new Reflection Free Premium coating for better glare reduction in bright rooms
- Slightly more premium design and build
Verdict is still out on how these two models will compare but we can't wait to get them in our studio for some testing.
LG C6 vs Samsung S90H: The Real Mid-Range OLED Battle
This is where it gets really interesting and for the mid-size OLED buyers, the real battle is between LG's C6 and Samsung's S90H.
The S90H gets Samsung’s updated Glare-Free screen tech this year - a matte-style finish that helps reduce reflections in bright rooms. LG, on the other hand, sticks with a traditional glossy OLED finish, which many still prefer for its punchier contrast and deeper blacks.
Samsung is also promising a modest brightness boost over last year, while LG is leaning on its Alpha 11 chip to deliver smarter image processing and improved HDR performance, even without a panel upgrade.
For us, this battle is really heating up this year and we can't wait for some side-by-side testing.
Early Verdict: Which LG C6 TV is right for you?

With LG splitting the C series into two distinct tiers for 2026, it’s more important than ever to match the TV to your priorities.
- If you’re going 77” or 83”, the C6H is shaping up to be one of the most exciting OLED TVs of the year. With flagship-level panel tech and colour performance at a more accessible price point, it could be the smart buy for big-screen home cinema without stretching to the G6.
- If you’re sticking to 65” or under, the standard C6 remains a top-class mid-range OLED, offering meaningful upgrades in processing and gaming while keeping the OLED magic intact - contrast-rich, cinematic and smooth.
Either way, the C6 lineup looks well-positioned to hit that OLED sweet spot: premium performance without the premium price tag.
We’ll be getting both the C6 and C6H into our Cheltenham store as soon as possible for hands-on testing, side-by-side comparisons and in-store demos. In the meantime, we'll keep this page updated with the latest news as we learn more.
2026 is already shaping up to be one of the most competitive OLED years yet and we’ll be covering it every step of the way.
